More circuits wired this week. My accomplishment for the weekend was installing the red clips which control electrical cables, per code and keep multiple cables safely away from where they might get hit with a nail during Sheetrock installation.
Regular status updates of on the progress of our remodel. Our goal is to turn a 1950s era home into an energy efficient, attractive home suitable for the next generation.

Insulation!
It's supposedly safe to be here now. Still a slight odor. It seems quieter even though there is still no insulation in the walls.

Ditch digging and electrical
Both Ian and I took turns digging the ditch for our water service. This was sort of already done by our contractor, but it wasn't deep enough or gradual enough turns. So we fixed it. There was also a little more electrical and a little more orange foam.

More kitchen wiring
Bit by bit. Ian is accomplishing a lot in the time that he's done working on his telework days while I'm commuting home.

Great Stuff!
Ian installed conduit and boxes for eve lights. The orange insulating foam was my job. It seals all the cracks so that when we have our insulation put in, it won't leak out and show on the outside.

More outlets and insulation
Ian did more work on the insulation under the kitchen sink. We got the duct in for our stove hood. Then we ran electrical for the kitchen.

Fire sprinklers
Today our fire sprinkler contractor was here. Zigzags of orange pipe all over. As much as I didn't want fire sprinklers. I do feel very safe seeing them go in.

We spent most of the weekend on wiring for our kitchen. We're required to have a lot of circuits in our kitchen.

More pictures!
Several people in the last week asked for more pictures. Here are a few.
Our roof is done. Our siding keeps coming bit by bit. The back deck is coming together. Our plan for today is inside electrical.
Ian was excited about Tesla's announcement about home batteries. He redid the calculations of how much power we should use. With our new efficient hot water heater and heat pump, we should be able to generate all our power with solar panels on our roof. We may even be able to have enough power for an electric car and still be "net zero". With battery storage we're even less dependent on the grid.
